Both the council and GKRL are committed to ensuring the scheme can progress quickly once funding is secured. Following this public consultation, a planning application will be submitted. This is part of the preparatory works to ensure the scheme can commence quickly. The ambition is that the project would then be delivered with phased construction over several years. The first phase is expected to commence once funding has been secured, and planning approvals have been confirmed. The project could take several years to complete, with later phases dependent on demand and investment.
