Our Vision
The regeneration of Huyton Town Centre (‘Huyton Village’) is a transformational and deliverable plan led by Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council in partnership with Genr8 Kajima Regeneration Limited.
Part of the plans for Huyton include the transformation of the council’s 7-acre site – to be known as St Michael’s Place, named in recognition of the nearby St Michael’s Church landmark and wider history of the area. Records show that a church has existed on this site since Anglo Saxon times and has always been at the heart of the community. St Michael’s Place takes its inspiration from this and will be a place for the people of Huyton and wider community.
This ambitious £200m project will transform Huyton by delivering new homes, modern commercial space, a hotel and a new village green. It will also create jobs and support local businesses, revitalising the town centre.
In addition, this transformational project includes the creation of a community hub in the heart of the town centre (at Cavendish Walk), which will include the library and the creation of community meeting spaces. The existing multi-storey car park will be redeveloped into a sustainable travel hub with EV charging points, improved security and parking facilities, including cycle parking. There will also be improved accessible pedestrian routes and accessible car parking through and around the town centre.
